Roselyn Spencer, the former Chief Investment Officer of the $3 billion Baltimore City Employees & Elected Officials’ Retirement Pension Fund, has been announced as the second keynote speaker for the 11th Angel Fair Africa, taking place from November 7-8, 2024. During her tenure, Spencer successfully diversified the fund’s portfolio across key asset classes, optimizing returns while managing risks.

Following her retirement, she founded Cedar Pension Consulting LLC, which provides advisory services to pension funds in the U.S. and Africa. She also served as Managing Director at MiDA Advisors, leading initiatives to develop pension fund consortiums focused on long-term investments and co-investments.

At this year’s Angel Fair Africa, Spencer will share her wealth of experience during a keynote fireside chat with Tinyiko Valoyi, Partner at Chanzo Capital. Their discussion will cover her journey in pension fund management, insights on investment strategies, and the evolving landscape of financial consulting.

Organizers have curated three distinct experiences for participants. These include a half-day trip to Nairobi National Park, a full-day excursion to Lake Naivasha on November 9, and a three-day weekend getaway to the coastal town of Diani from November 9-11, 2024. These experiences will offer delegates a chance to explore Kenya’s natural beauty while enjoying opportunities for informal networking.

Strategic Partnerships to Enhance the Event

Angel Fair Africa has partnered with Convene Africa Nexus, which will sponsor AV production for the event. Additionally, Kenya Airways is offering a 10% discount on flights for delegates, while Little, one of Africa’s largest ride-hailing services, will provide transportation for attendees commuting to and from the venue.
