The Plateau state government has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on Riyom, Barakin Ladi and Jos south local government areas of the state.
Movements in these areas have been restricted between 6pm and 6am.
Whatsapp groups and other social media platforms are buzzing with images and news of the attacks in Gashish and Ropp districts of the state with about 11 communities reportedly laid under violent siege including Rakok, Kok and Razat villages among others.
Government is warning against social media ‘dangerous rumours’ that may further aggravate the crisis.
Over 100 people have allegedly been killed in villages and settlements across these three local government areas.
Some injured victims and survivors rushed to the Jos University Teaching Hospitals yesterday blamed the attacks on suspected herdsmen.
Government said it was investigating the killings even as security personnel spread across the areas to stop the killings and prevent reprisal attacks.
