Cybersecurity and Digital Literacy take center stage in Plateau State’s tech development.
The Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA) and the Plateau State Association of Tech Companies (PLATEC) have commended the Child Protection Initiative Against Cyber Crimes (C-C Pro) for its unwavering commitment to cybersecurity education and digital literacy among young Nigerians.

During recent engagements with PICTDA and PLATEC, C-C Pro was lauded for its efforts in empowering teenagers with digital skills. But stakeholders emphasized the need for long-term sustainability and measurable impact.
The engagements are part of preparation for its 2025 edition of Teen-Tech Nigeria Mentorship Program holding in Jos. The last edition held in Abuja. A fallout of the 2023 Nigerian Teen Cyber Awareness Report by C-C Pro, the initiative provides secondary school students with mentorship, guidance, and resources to harness their creativity and innovation in the field of ICT.
PICTDA Urges C-C Pro to Prioritize Long-Term Impact & Sustainability
The Director-General of PICTDA, Mr. Datong Dominic Gwaman, expressed appreciation for C-C Pro’s visionary approach in educating young people on responsible digital engagement. However, he urged the initiative to ensure its programs have lasting impact beyond one-time interventions.
Key Areas for Improvement Identified by PICTDA
- Sustainability Strategy – Transforming C-C Pro into a long-term movement rather than short-term engagements.
- Continuous Learning – Extending education beyond one-time school visits.
- Expanded Outreach – Increasing the number of schools and communities impacted.

PICTDA reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with C-C Pro and announced its support for the 2025 Program. It is scheduled for March 19, 2025, at Government Secondary School, Hwolshe, Jos. The event will provide digital training for secondary school students and micro-workshops on digital empowerments. This edition will feature tech experts, corporate players including NASCO Group, SBTS Group to equip students with skills to navigate the digital economy.

In a separate development, C-C Pro’s team, led by Delmwa Gogwim, met with the President of PLATEC, Mr. Stephen Sunday, to explore collaborative strategies for expanding digital education in Plateau State.
The PLATEC President praised C-C Pro’s Teen Tech Mentorship Program. He described it as a timely intervention in equipping young Nigerians with cybersecurity awareness and digital skills. Sunday stressed the urgent need for youth empowerment in technology and pledged PLATEC’s full support in mentoring participants and enhancing the program’s reach.
