Minister of Communications and Digital Economy. Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has this week in Abuja, inaugurated two subsidiary boards of the Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST) as part of the process reform the postal agency and its unbundling as a corporate entity.
The inaugurated boards are the NIPOST Properties and Development Company Limited and NIPOST Transport and Logistics Company.

Addressing members of the Boards at the ceremony, Pantami reiterated government’s commitment to improving the efficiency of NIPOST “to provide highly innovative services and support the development of the digital economy by harnessing the strengths of NIPOST, particularly the spread of its offices across the country. We are positioning NIPOST to use digital technologies to address challenges and contribute to national development especially in the rural areas.”
He noted that the exponential growth of e-commerce in Nigeria and the World Bank Digital Diagnostic Report on the country has identified it as a force to be reckoned with in the area of e-commerce and this, therefore makes it compelling for the government to provide the enabling environment for NIPOST to thrive within the digital economy. Professor Pantami charged members of the subsidiary boards to work harmoniously towards the common goal of repositioning the institution to achieve its overall vision.
The NIPOST Properties and Development Company Limited subsidiary board is chaired by Abdullahi Ahmed Bappah, while Professor Abdussamad Umar Jibiya, chairs the subsidiary board of the NIPOST Transport and Logistics Company. They are charged with formulating policies and adopting strategies to promote the development of efficient economic property business.
