Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami today in Lagos hosted an interactive session with stakeholders in Nigeria’s tech innovation ecosystem where he expressed confidence that Nigeria’s digital transformation and economic might rest on its startups community.
Also as part of his engagements in the country’s commercial capital of over 21 million people, the minister led a federal government delegation on working visits to Flutterwave, Africa’s largest unicorn and Treepz, a Mobility-as-a-Service platform.

Flutterwave provides a payment infrastructure platform that connects merchants globally.
While delivering the keynote address, Pantami said the startup community has been a major driver of growth in Nigeria adding that double digits contribution of the ICT sector to GDP underscores government’s efforts at transforming the economy digitally and the confidence of the international community in Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Lagos interaction with the theme: ‘Fostering an Enabling Environment for Startup Growth,’ focused on building greater synergy between government, private sector tech companies, technopreneurs and the growing army of the country’s innovation startups.
The session was designed at facilitating honest conversations between the federal government and startups as well as other key stakeholders in the sector.
