Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the new Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency – NITDA assumed duties today.
He was welcomed by the acting DG of NITDA, Dr Vincent Olatunji, who is also the Director of Corporate Strategies and Research at the NITDA.
Pantami comes with experience as a researcher and a lecturer in ICT. He will lead NITDA for the next four years as DG.

Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami assumes for duty today as substantive Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, (NITDA) following the announcement by the federal government on Monday appointing 13 new head of parastatals.
In a brief reception held in his honour, Dr. Pantami said he is glad to have been received in such a wonderful manner by the outgoing acting DG. Vincent Olatunji, PhD and other members of staff.
The new DG who brisk in around 1:30PM said he came around to get a copy of the hand over note and to say hello to the people of his new environment.
Pantami promised to consolidate on the achievements the agency has recorded in past years adding that what is important to him is to see how Nigeria can explore the potentials of ICT for development.
He said, “What is important to us is Nigeria and I am here to work together with you as a team to achieve the vision of the Agency.”
Earlier in his welcome address, the outgoing Ag. DG assured him of the cooperation of all staff adding that NITDA is one big family.
Olatunji informed him that the Agency might be small in structure but very big in activities as he has come to improve upon its activities. He added that his coming cannot be at a better time than now when the nation needs to leverage on ICT as alternative to oil to come out of recession
