Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the immediate past Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, has praised the recent appointment of Daser David as the President and CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI). He said the appointment, by President Bola Tinubu, underscores the nation’s confidence in David’s leadership skills and commitment to advancing Nigeria’s digital landscape.

In his commendation, Pantami, a seasoned academic and expert in policy and regulatory matters commended David. He said “your appointment as the Director General/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute is a testament to the nation’s trust and confidence in your leadership abilities. It embodies your commitment to the development of our great nation.” The former minister expressed confidence over David’s “exemplary track record. He said his “pragmatic, inclusive leadership style will lead DBI toward transformative achievements.”
A legacy of impactful contributions
Pantami, who played a significant role in driving Nigeria’s focus on the digital economy and artificial intelligence, expressed hope for a successful tenure. “May the Almighty make your tenure very successful and enabled to leave behind a legacy of impactful and groundbreaking contributions.”
Appointed in early September, David’s mandate is to revamp the DBI by enhancing its commercial viability. He is to align its programs with the evolving skill demands of today’s economy. The DBI boss brings a wealth of experience in digital technology to the role. He previously served as the pioneer Director General of the Plateau State Information Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA). During his time at PICTDA, David spearheaded initiatives that drove governance efficiency and innovation within Plateau State. These include the Silicon Plateau Project and Code Plateau, which nurtured a community of tech talent.
Fostering digital skills development at the grassroots
David also played a pivotal role in launching the Qua’an Pan Innovation Hub, Nigeria’s first fully funded local government technology hub. Qua’an Pan further showcased his commitment to fostering digital skills development at the grassroots level.
The DBI is a leading ICT and digital skills development organization in Nigeria. Dedicated to training individuals and equipping them with essential digital skills. the Institute was established 20 years ago. David’s appointment is expected to bolster DBI’s mission and contribute significantly to Nigeria’s growing digital economy.
