Nokia’s Rural Connect solution, featuring the industry-leading AirScale radio portfolio—Massive MIMO radios, remote radio heads, and base stations—is set to enhance iSAT Africa’s network capabilities. Leveraging Nokia’s MantaRay Network Management tools, iSAT Africa will gain a unified, automated network view, improving monitoring and management. This collaboration addresses critical issues like limited coverage and the significant digital divide in rural areas.

The deployment of 200 sites will extend iSAT Africa’s network beyond major cities, offering mobile operators an innovative, cost-effective, and efficient solution. This expansion will enable rural communities to access essential services, driving both social and economic development in Liberia’s remote regions.

Osama Said, Customer Team Head, West Africa and Enterprise at Nokia, emphasized:
“We are proud to partner with iSAT Africa on this key initiative to improve connectivity in rural Liberia. Our Rural Connect solution ensures strong coverage in underserved areas, offering voice and data services to historically unconnected communities. This partnership is crucial for bridging the digital divide and fostering socio-economic growth.”

Rakesh Kukreja, Founder and Managing Director at iSAT Africa, stated:
“Our collaboration with Nokia highlights our commitment to closing the digital divide and expanding connectivity across Liberia. Nokia’s Rural Connect solution provides lean, energy-efficient, and easy-to-deploy technologies, allowing us to extend coverage into remote areas. This deployment enhances our position as a leader in Network as a Service and improves lives by delivering reliable voice and data services to the unconnected.”

This partnership between Nokia and iSAT Africa underscores their shared commitment to digital inclusion, bringing the benefits of connectivity to all parts of Liberia and helping bridge the digital gap.
