Newly appointed Director General, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mr. Kashifu Abdallah Inuwa said his vision for the IT regulatory body is to make it a smart organisation able to live up to its mandate to regulate and inspire a positive growth in the industry.

Inuwa spoke at his first official meeting with the agency’s staff even as he urged them to up their game and deliver on their official responsibilities.

The 39-year-old Inuwa is the fifth director general of NITDA and the youngest so far. He took over from Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, who is now the Minister of Communications.

Until his appointment, the NITDA’s boss was a principal officer at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and was on secondment to NITDA as a Technical Assistant to Pantami, which should afford him significant knowledge to understand and manage the agency.

While describing himself as a result oriented individual, Inuwa said he is opened to progressive ideas and challenged the staff to work as a team.

“ My vision for NITDA is to completely transform the agency into a smart organisation,” said Inuwa adding that: “ working as a team, everyone has a role to play, from those at the top to those at the bottom of the ladder.”

The new boss of NITDA comes to office with over 15 years of experience in IT operations, business transformation and solution architecture, across both private and public sectors. A graduate of Computer Science from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi State, he worked in Galaxy Backbone and held various positions including IP Network Field Engineer and Senior Solution Architect & Lead, before leaving for the CBN in 2014 as a ‘technology architect developing technology architecture repository that gives 360 view of the bank’s IT infrastructure and easy decision on new IT investment.
