The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has announced the inaugural meeting of the Startup Consultative Forum. This will hold Monday, April 28, 2025. A landmark gathering, it represents a pivotal step in strengthening stakeholder participation across Nigeria’s fast-growing startup ecosystem.

The Forum is organized under the framework of the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA). It aims to provide an inclusive and interactive platform for startup founders, tech innovators, venture capitalists, ecosystem enablers, and support organizations. All of them to engage directly in shaping national policies that encourage innovation, attract investment, and support entrepreneurial growth.

A New Chapter for Nigeria’s Innovation Economy

This first-of-its-kind consultative event underscores the government’s commitment to collaborative policy-making. It targets startups to not just be beneficiaries but active contributors to national innovation strategy.

NITDA has defined the core objective of the Forum. The nomination and selection of representatives to the National Council for Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Startup Council). This is the apex advisory body established to oversee the implementation of the Nigeria Startup Act.

NITDA is inviting all Labelled Startups, Verified Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Organizations (IESOs), Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists, and other key players in Nigeria’s digital economy to participate in this foundational event. Attendees will contribute to a nomination and voting process that sets the tone for more transparent and impactful innovation governance.
