In collaboration with Cisco and NSUK, the launch of DL4ALL marks a key step in implementing NITDA’s National Digital Literacy Framework (NDLF). This aims to prepare students at all educational levels to succeed in a digital economy.
NITDA Director General Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi hailed this initiative as a collaborative victory for industry, academia, and government. “This initiative strengthens our ecosystem by uniting industry, academia, and government to build a digitally literate society,” he stated.
Inuwa emphasized that, with Cisco’s support and NITDA’s frameworks, Nigeria can graduate students who are digitally proficient, addressing the global talent shortage, which the World Economic Forum projects will reach 85 million by 2030. He highlighted this as an opportunity for Nigeria to become a key player in the global digital workforce, aligning with the president’s directive to drive economic growth through technology.

Abdullahi outlined the competencies in NITDA’s National Digital Literacy Framework, which include skills in device and software operation, data literacy, collaboration, content creation, safety, and problem-solving. These competencies are designed to equip students with the skills to use technology safely and creatively, collaborate effectively, and adapt to a digital-first economy. Through DL4ALL, NITDA is working to build a digitally savvy population across all sectors.
NSUK’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sadaatu Hassan Liman, applauded the partnership with NITDA, calling it transformative. “The DL4ALL initiative will empower our students with essential digital skills needed to succeed in the global market,” she noted. Adding that the program promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and an innovative mindset necessary for the digital era.
The event concluded with the unveiling of the DL4ALL emblem at NSUK. It marks the university’s commitment to fostering digital literacy and setting a benchmark for other institutions. The emblem represents NSUK’s role as a regional leader in digital education. This also underscores its dedication to opening new opportunities for students and faculty in emerging technologies.
