The 2024 Innovation Challenge empowers Nigeria’s brightest innovators to leverage technology and creativity to tackle critical infrastructure challenges. This initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on economic growth and job creation. Additionally, it supports NITDA’s mission to advance innovation and entrepreneurship, accelerating Nigeria’s digital transformation under the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s strategic blueprint.

Participants will form teams and use digital tools to create detailed maps highlighting essential infrastructure like hospitals, schools, roads, and utilities. These insights will drive sustainable development across Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT.

The competition features three stages:

  1. State Level: Teams from each of the 36 states and FCT will compete, with 37 teams moving forward.
  2. Regional Level: These teams will represent their geo-political zones, producing 6 regional champions.
  3. National Level (Grand Finale): The regional winners will compete for the grand prize at the Digital Nigeria Conference in Abuja.

Prizes:

  • Each regional winner will receive ₦1 Million.
  • The national winner will take home a ₦5 Million grand prize.

The challenge goes beyond competition, driving real-world solutions by engaging participants in digital mapping and data collection. Key focus areas include healthcare, education, transportation, utilities, and public services.

Through this initiative, NITDA and ONDI aim to:
