The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has denied being part of software training targeting the North Eastern part of Nigeria. The government IT clearinghouse denounced a form in circulation particularly in Gombe State requesting for personal details of individuals to be filled by the public in order to take part in the training tagged: “NITDA Youth Empowerment Training on Software Development (North East) purportedly being organised by the Agency.

An official statement released at the weekend in Abuja by Head of Corporate Affairs & External Relations Unit, Mrs. Hadiza Umar, warned Nigerians to be wary of such registration for IT training without the official endorsement of the agency.

The attention of the National Information Technology Development Agency, (NITDA) has been drawn to a form in circulation particularly in Gombe State requesting for personal details of individuals to be filled by the public in order to take part in a training tagged “NITDA Youth Empowerment Training on Software Development (North East) purportedly being organised by the Agency.

The general public is hereby informed that NITDA is not responsible or liable for this form nor the training, therefore it should be disregarded.

NITDA will notify the general public through its website, social media handles and other news media channels for any forthcoming trainings or programmes.

The Agency also wishes to call on the general public to visit the North East Zonal Office, along Ashaka Road, opposite Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, Gombe State for further clarification or contact the Agency through its verified official social media platforms and other means of communication accessible to them.

Furthermore, the Agency is using this medium to warn individuals behind this act of swindling unsuspecting public of their hard earned resources to desist from this heinous act as the Agency will take legal action against such fraudulent acts.
