The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) has set an ambitious target to achieve a ₦10 billion revenue increase through strategic expansion and innovation, according to Postmaster General and CEO, Mrs. Tola Odeyemi. She shared this vision during the opening of a three-day Strategic Management Retreat in Abuja, attended by NIPOST management, directors, and postal managers from across the country.

Mrs. Odeyemi emphasized the leadership’s commitment to transforming NIPOST into a dynamic agency that not only supports government operations but also makes a tangible difference in the lives of ordinary Nigerians. A significant component of this transformation is a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), aimed at reducing transportation costs for the 22 million businesses registered with SMEDAN by 15%.
In addition to expanding partnerships, NIPOST plans to upgrade its technology infrastructure to enhance its mail delivery systems and build greater public trust. Addressing concerns about missing mail, Odeyemi acknowledged the issue and outlined plans to implement an end-to-end tracking system that will help identify and rectify errors caused by human factors.
“We are aware of the complaints about missing mail. To address this, we will upgrade our technology with an end-to-end tracking system, allowing us to pinpoint where issues arise and mitigate errors within the system,” Odeyemi stated.
