The Nigeria Startup Portal has opened for labelling allowing startups to register at https://www.startup.gov.ng and become eligible for statutory incentives and resources among other opportunities.

The portal was launched by the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, to help foster the growth of startups and tech talent in Nigeria.
The Startup Support and Engagement Portal is part of the Nigeria Startup Act (NSA 2022). Startups signed up on the portal qualify to participate in forming the Startup Consultative Forum and numerous incentives under the Nigeria Startup Act.
“Join 12,948 startups, 912 VCs, 1,735 Angel Investors, and 925 Accelerators, Incubators & Hubs already registered,” the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) elicited in a social media post.

To register on the Nigeria Startup Portal and start the labelling process begins with a visit to www.startup.gov.ng.
Once registration is initiated, check your email for password reset and complete your profile to apply for a Startup Label or get verified as a VCs, angels, accelerators, incubators, or hubs.
The objectives of the Nigeria Startup Act, signed into law in 2022, include to provide for the creation and development of an enabling environment for technology-enabled startups in Nigeria. The Act aims to create an enabling environment for investing, attracting, and protecting investment and innovation in tech-startups.
