NIGCOMSAT Ltd has successfully trained staff of the Defence Space Administration (DSA) at NIGCOMSAT Ground Control Station, Abuja. The training focused on building capacity for the growth of space technology in Nigeria.
The Managing Director, NIGCOMSAT Ltd, Dr. Abimbola Alale, said the participants had the benefit to be trained by some of the best satellite engineers in this part of the world.

Accordioning to a statement by General Manager, Corporate Affairs and Special Project, Dr. Adamu Idris, “the managing director reiterated the determination of the company to positively impact on human development in the country.”
Alale, who was represented by the Executive Director, Technical, Prof. Abdu Jafaar Bambale, said staff of the DSA are now in a better state of knowledge to apply communication satellite technology to improving their daily professional tasks.
‘It is my expectation that you will apply the knowledge and skills acquired from this training in furtherance of your careers and achieving the overall mission of the Defence Space Administration’, she Alale.
Chief of Defence Space Administration, Rear Admiral Nnamdi Muogilim, represented by the Director, Policy, Planning and Research, Major General Musa Danmadami, expressed gratitude for the training and said the collaboration between NIGCOMSAT and the DAS was the first of its kind between the two agencies hoping for more synergy.
According to him, the DSA will not achieve its complete mandate without the cooperation of NIGCOMSAT Ltd.
Certificates and awards were presented to participants at the end of the closing ceremony. The Dr. Abimbola Alale Award for overall best trainee, went to Alawuye Joshua Jide.
