The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has formally announced the issuance of two additional Infrastructure Company (Infraco) licences by its board as part of the plans to deepen broadband penetration in the country. This was first reported by IT Edge News.Ng two days ago:

Zinox Technology Limited has the licence for Southeast while Brinks Integrated Solutions Limited is to deploy services in the Northeast. Zinox, founded by Leo Stanley Nnamdi Ekeh, recently acquired the Konga ecommerce platform.
They are licensed under the NCC’s Open Access Model designed round the 2013-2018 National Broadband Plan (NBP).
Four InfraCos are now officially licenced. The regulator hopes to licensed three more to make the InfraCos seven in all. The first two InfraCos licensed months back were MainOne Cable Company Limited had been licenced for Lagos and IHS for the Northcentral geopolitical zone that includes Abuja.
NCC’s Director, Public Affairs Tony Ojobo, in a public statement reiterates InfraCos are licensed to deepen broadband.
