The NCC is Nigeria’s telecom regulator, mandated by law as “the independent National Regulatory Authority for the telecommunications industry in Nigeria” to create “an enabling environment for competition among operators in the industry as well as ensuring the provision of qualitative and efficient telecommunications services throughout the country.”
A 2020 ranking of MDAs by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for compliance to ethics and integrity listed the NCC ahead of other sister agencies under the Federal Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy.
