The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, signed the partnership, led by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijanni.

Under the new deal, Nokia Nigeria will set up a fully functional 5G/4G test lab inside the NCC’s Digital Parks to leverage Nokia’s latest radio and transmission technologies.

The Nokia Nigeria 5G/4G test lab will be similar to the one in Guadalajara, Mexico to enable end-to-end testing, ensuring that services meet the required standards of scale and performance.

Furthermore, Nokia Nigeria will launch an Entrepreneur Learning Programme, providing high-quality vocational training to 200 Nigerian students from across the six geopolitical zones. This initiative aligns with the ministry’s goal of promoting digital literacy and developing a pipeline of technical talents in Nigeria.

The partnership is expected to enhance the capacity and skills of Nigerians, enabling them to adapt to the rapidly evolving telecommunications industry. This collaboration between NCC and Nokia is a significant step towards advancing Nigeria’s digital vision and promoting digital inclusivity.
