The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) is offering a 50% discount to drivers who sign up on the newly launched MY-CNG app, a significant move aimed at promoting the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Nigeria’s rideshare sector. The announcement was made by NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, during the launch of the Presidential CNG Initiative’s (Pi-CNG) Conversion Incentive Program in Abuja.

This initiative specifically targets Uber and Bolt drivers, encouraging them to convert their vehicles to CNG, a cleaner and more affordable fuel alternative. The MY-CNG app will serve as a key tool in facilitating this transition, offering drivers the ability to access incentives and manage their conversion processes more efficiently.
The launch event, held at NASENI’s Compressed Natural Gas Engineering, Training, and Conversion facility in Utako, featured distinguished guests including the Minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources, Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo, and representatives from various government and private sector entities.
Mr. Halilu emphasized that this initiative aligns with NASENI’s broader mission to leverage technology for national development. “CNG offers the potential to reduce transportation costs by up to 70% and deliver 40% savings for car owners, making it an integral part of Nigeria’s energy future,” he noted.
Halilu also praised the collaborative efforts of partners like Pi-CNG, Portland, and Dana Motors in making this project a reality, underscoring the importance of such partnerships in driving innovation and achieving the goals of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
