This training initiative, conducted in partnership with SRH Berlin, Germany—a renowned organization specializing in commercial-scale biogas and biomethanol plant development—aims to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of NASENI staff.

In addition to the onsite training, the program includes two online courses covering medium-scale plant design, process control, CAD/CAM, material science for biogas production, methanol synthesis, hydrogen production, and safety principles.

Representing the Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Dr. Chika Ezeanyanaso, Deputy Director of the Nano Science Department, emphasized the importance of the training. She highlighted that the initiative is crucial for equipping NASENI staff with the expertise needed to design and manage biogas and biomethanol plants effectively. She also noted that a model design for a biogas plant has already been developed, and the training will focus on practical applications and hands-on learning.

Dr. Ezeanyanaso urged the participants to engage with the training seriously, underscoring its potential to significantly impact NASENI’s renewable energy initiatives. The training is facilitated by a team of seven experts from SRH Berlin, including Ronald Schnell, Gnana Swaroop, Osvaldo Romero, Edward Antwi, Nomu I, Uduak Bassey, and Michael Hartman, who will impart cutting-edge skills and knowledge to the participants.

Anas Yadiz, Special Assistant to the Executive Vice Chairman on Science and Engineering Commercialisation, and the training coordinator, stated that NASENI is committed to advancing biogas and biomethanol technologies. This initiative aligns with Nigeria’s broader renewable energy goals, promoting innovation, skill enhancement, and a transition towards a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.

This collaborative training effort underscores NASENI’s dedication to fostering innovation, enhancing the capabilities of its workforce, and leading the way toward a greener Nigeria.
