Lead managers of Nigeria’s regulatory authorities including the Director, Public Affairs, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Mr. Reuben Muoka; the Head, Media Relations Management, NCC, Dr. Omoniyi Ibietan; and Head, Corporate Affairs and External Relations at National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Mrs. Hadiza Umar have been inducted as fellows of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

The inductees list also included spokesperson of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Mrs. Azuka Ogugua, and 78 others at a recent ceremony in Lagos.

The NIPR was established in 1963 and Chartered by Decree 16 of June 1990, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Practitioners Decree (now an Act of the National Assembly and cited as Cap N114, Laws of the Federation Nigeria, LFN, 2004).

Muoka leads the public engagement and perception relations with his team that include Ibietan to provide a robust public image for the NCC. Both men have extensive experience at management levels in managing PR in the public sector.

Umar, touted as a PR management gem in the public sector, has been the chief strategist for NITDA’s public image for over a decade. She has helped to build and propagate positive media content around NITDA as an IT regulatory agency.

Ogugua is Deputy Director in the Public Enlightenment & Education Department of the ICPC. She is tasked with maintaining a positive public image for the anti-graft agency.
