Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced plans to connect about 100 public schools across the state to a metropolitan fibre optics network. The project is expected to deliver learning resources through high-speed internet.

While commissioning new blocks of classrooms in four schools recently, the governor assured that the broadband internet infrastructure will be launched this month of May 2021.

He said 100 schools have been selected to pilot the initiative designed to improve learning for students and equip teachers with required internet enabled resources to deliver on their jobs.

More schools will follow in the subsequent phases, the governor assured as part of his administration’s commitment to improve the standard of learning and teaching in the state.
