Gitex Global 2024 has officially opened today, October 14, at the Dubai World Trade Center (DWTC), under the theme “Global Collaboration to Forge a Future AI Economy.” This 44th edition of the event emphasizes the pivotal role of artificial intelligence (AI) in driving the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

A key highlight this year is the promotion of Gitex Nigeria 2025, positioning it as one of next year’s premier global tech events. The DWTC aims to showcase Nigeria’s rich tech potential and talent, fostering new levels of international collaboration to expand the country’s presence in the global tech landscape.

The Gitex Global 2024 exhibition features over 6,500 companies, including industry giants such as Google, Oracle, Kaspersky, Microsoft, Adobe, and Alibaba Cloud. The event also brings together more than 1,800 startups and 1,200 investors from 180 countries, underscoring its significance as a leading platform shaping the future of innovation.

Lagos, Nipex registers Nigeria’s presence

Nigeria’s presence is robust, with the Lagos State Pavilion hosting over 10 IT enterprises and promoting a number of startups. Additionally, NNPC-Nipex is participating, further reinforcing the country’s active role in the global tech community.

The event highlights AI’s transformative power and future trends, with contributions from government policies and innovations by leading companies worldwide. Alongside Gitex Global, the Expand North Star showcase, running from October 13-16 at Dubai Harbour, is a major attraction. Organized by DWTC in partnership with the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, it has become the world’s largest startup and investment show, propelling the next generation of AI-driven technologies.

Gitex Global 2024 not only sets the stage for future AI advancements but also serves as a springboard for Gitex Nigeria 2025, which will further solidify Nigeria’s position in the global tech arena.
