The 40th edition of GITEX is less than 14 days away as the countdown begins for more than 100, 000 trade visitors and exhibitors from over 120 countries expected to attend the event designed at reinforcing post pandemic recovery. GITEX Technology Week holds 6-10 December.

New normal, vital connections and GITEX tech focus

GITEX is the only viable physical global event of 2020 connecting governments, businesses and new innovations. With new entrants including organisations from Israel, the event is already billed to live up to its tradition to reignite the vital connections and bring influential players in tech and business together to shape growth strategies for the new realities and the next decade.

The five day gathering is focusing on technologies that include 5G, AI & Augmented Analytics, Future Mobility (Transportation), Digital Economies, Cyber Security and Resilience, Cloud and Edge Computing, and Blockchain Technology.

Nigeria driving startups and digital economy at GITEX 2020

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is leading a Nigerian official delegation to the GITEX Technology Week. The country is fostering its participation at GITEX 2020 on promoting youth-led enterprises to showcase innovations coming from its tech startups community, and the strong policy-thrust on digital economy.

Director General of the NITDA, Mr Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, said Nigeria’s participation is anchored on promoting the energetic entrepreneurship of its young people and the strong push for digital economy.  

The government IT clearinghouse, NITDA, has already inaugurated the Local Organising Committee (LOC) charged with ensuring Africa’s largest economy a rewarding participation.

According to the NITDA’s boss, Nigeria targets early recovery from the pandemic, sees strong economic rebound through the tech innovations of its youths even as it explores the digital economy space to seek for global collaboration so as to re-energise and re-engineer its economy.

Nations are increasingly navigating the pandemic to keep their economy growing, and avoid complete stagnation, the NITDA’s boss enthused.
