BBC Hausa mobile website now in Responsive Design
BBC Hausa mobile website is now available in a Responsive Design. The website was presented by Mansur Liman, BBC Hausa Editor, during NigeriaCom conference in Lagos. With this, all users coming to the site will be automatically routed to the mobile optimised version, thus getting the best possible user experience their device can deliver. Prior to this, all users have had the same experience which did not reflect the advantages of their particular type of mobile phone. Now, with the introduction of the Responsive Design technology, they will get the best possible experience that their phone can manage.
BBC is leveraging on the growing mobile internet subscription in Nigeria. On the NCC website, as at June 2013, the number of mobile internet subscription is more than 48 million, a significant growth from the 28 million in the previous year. BBC Hausa which is part of BBC World Service uses its platforms to reach its weekly audience of 192 million globally. Over 95% of bbchausa.com users come to the site via mobile phones of different models.
