The Imo State Government has entered into a strategic partnership with the US Market Access Center (USMAC), California. This is a groundbreaking move to position Imo State as Africa’s next major technology and innovation hub.

This landmark collaboration between Imo Digital City and USMAC aims to replicate the success of Silicon Valley by empowering tech talent, nurturing startups, and attracting global investment to the state.
Governor Hope Uzodimma described the partnership as a transformative economic shift that will drive job creation. The partnership will drive digital skill development, and international business opportunities for Imo-based entrepreneurs.
“Our vision is to position Imo State as a prime destination for technology investment and innovation. By collaborating with USMAC, we will open doors for our young people to develop world-class skills, attract international companies, and create an enabling environment for startups to thrive. This is a critical step in our commitment to economic diversification and job creation,” said Governor Uzodimma.

1. Digital Skills Training for the Global Tech Market
- Imo Digital City will provide world-class training in high-demand technology fields, including software development, artificial intelligence (AI), data science, cybersecurity, and cloud computing.
- The program will equip young people with in-demand skills needed to secure global job opportunities and contribute to Nigeria’s digital economy.
2. Startup Incubation and Acceleration
- A Founder Development Program will be launched, offering:
- Mentorship from Silicon Valley experts
- Business acceleration programs

- Funding and investment opportunities
- Participating entrepreneurs will also receive certification from the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology, University of California, Berkeley.
3. Attracting International Investment and Global Partnerships
- The Imo State Government will implement pro-business policies and infrastructure to make the state a hub for digital innovation and foreign direct investment (FDI).
