Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HP) has announced a $50,000 partnership with Utiva to support its work in helping more women and girls learn premium technology skills across the African continent.
Alex Cho, president of HP Inc’s Personal Systems business group, made the announcement at a recent virtual event hosted by the computer giant.
Utiva is a Nigerian edutech company with an African focus. In less than two years, it has trained more than 10, 000 people majorly women in soft skills around data science, product design & management as well as analytics with python among others.

The HP virtual event tagged: ‘Action for Digital Equity’ was attended by global leaders that included Alex Amouyel, Executive Director of Solve, an MIT initiative; and Sarah Brown, Executive Chair of the Global Business Coalition.
Cho sad the USD 50,000 is targeting to provide nucleus devices for girls and women across the continent and also strengthen Utiva’s ability to deliver on soft skill training.
CEO of Utiva, Eyitayo Ogunmola, assured on the company’s commitment to close the learning barrier for women on the continent through series of initiatives.
Utiva will in 2022 launch, a 20% annualised discount to learn technology skills in Africa to provide a new path to over 10,000 women and girls, Ogunmola added.
