Dominic Datong Gwamman has launched his aspiration to the National House of Representatives, under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), canvassing for the creation of tech hubs in Mikang, Shendam and Quaan-Pan federal constituency of Plateau state.

The aspirant said tech hubs will help to train the teeming youth in the areas on ICT with the view to transforming the entire area to become the country’s Silicon Valley and a panacea to development.

Gwamman described ICT as the ‘new oil’ in the country, stating that developing and supporting a nationwide core ICT infrastructural drive could revolutionise the sector as the new oil revolution.

 According to Mr. Datong, if elected, he would pursue and leverage on fund for Science and Technology which is already available with many relevant agencies of government.

Unveiling his agenda towards impacting positively to the people of his constituency if elected, Mr. Datong reiterated his commitment towards a minimum healthcare standard by pursuing and assessing the revolving fund to support free healthcare for children under the ages of 5 years and for those over 65 years.

On the abundance of agricultural resources in the constituency he would want to represent, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) aspirant insist that the establishment of Agro-Based companies would further discourage the massive movement of unprocessed farm produce to other areas thus helping to create decent jobs and reduce poverty as stipulated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The campaign launch which took place recently in Mikang, Shendam and Quaan-Pan (MSQ) Local Government Areas of the state, the aspirant frowned on the used of religion, ethnicity and political differences to promote acrimony amongst brothers and sisters.

Instead, Mr. Datong believes that politics should be as a conveyance of developmental goals and peaceful co-existence.

‘There is no do or die in politics, winners and losers should embrace each other’s for the growth of humanity and the society’, he said.

Other motivational factors that spurred him into the race is to develop mentorship programs in various communities in other to open up the political space for well-intentioned upcoming leaders to thrive and contribute to the overall development in Mikang, Shendam and Quaan-Pan (MSQ).

Also to make Mikang, Shendam and Quaan-Pan constituency a model of reference for effective representative at the national assembly and a model for others to copy for our quality of constituency projects.

Again, to work with development agencies including the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to institute pilot developmental projects in the region.
