The Nigerian Country Pavilion at the GITEX Technology Week has drawn much attention from the global stakeholders including investors seeking to explore opportunities in ICT and other sectors in Africa’s most populous country over 200 million.
Most sought for areas include IoT, Cyber Security, eHealth, 5G and Smart Cities from countries that include Poland, UK, Israel, Sweden, India, China (Hong Kong), Iran, and France. The companies include INTEZER, the RCS Group, TOTAN, Groupe Credit Agricole, and REDTEAM among others.
The five-day technology event ended Thursday with more than 3000 big tech exhibitors and 700 startups alongside 147 countries participating. Over 200, 000 trade visitors attended the event clearly beaten the record of 2016 and strongly representing massive trade opportunities as the global tech community prepares for life beyond the pandemic.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) under the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy facilitated the Nigerian Country Pavilion from October 17-21, 2021. The Pavilion featured six exhibitors including the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), SamPro Ltd, National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Galaxy Backbone Limited, and Nigeria communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd and Petroleum Equalization Fund Board (PEF). It also housed about nine Nigerian tech startups all sponsored by the NITDA.
Nigeria’s participation in 41st edition of the GITEX Technology Week hinged on a Country Pavilion and Networking due to the challenges of COVID-19 and attendant travel glitches. Despite these, the country’s presence has expectedly drawn significant positive interest from Day 1 of the event.
GITEX has become the largest regional IT exhibition and the second most important technology gathering in the world defining the latest trends, presenting high calibre speakers and showcasing product innovations from across the world. Rated as the most valued IT event in terms of provisioning of high-level networking opportunities.
