The Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has praised the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) for its technological advancements, innovative products, and contributions to various economic sectors.

During a familiarization visit to NASENI this week in Abuja, Gbajabiamila expressed his admiration for the agency’s efforts. The Chief of Staff, accompanied by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Senator Ibrahim Hadeija, and the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Engr. Olufunso Adebiyi explored NASENI’s facilities. This included a test drive of its electric vehicle pick-up van, and visit to the Hatch Box, and Innovation Hub.
They also reviewed new products like the Home Solar system,Solar Irrigation Pump, Prepaid Meter, Laptop, Smartphone, and Battery, among others.
The visit was part of ongoing engagements with government agencies under the Presidency’s supervision to understand their missions, activities, and challenges, and to ensure alignment with the current administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
After touring the NASENI Complex in Idu Industrial Area and witnessing the new projects and products initiated by Executive Vice Chairman/CEO Khalil Suleiman Halilu since September 2023, Gbajabiamila expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and the impressive innovations.
“I am glad I embarked on this trip. Seeing firsthand what NASENI is doing, how they are doing it, and understanding their challenges, if any, was the goal. I am impressed with what we have seen and heard,” Gbajabiamila stated.
He further commended Mr. Halilu, noting that the rapid production of numerous technological products in just 11 months reflects his dedication and passion. “I commend you and the rest of your team,” he added.
Gbajabiamila emphasized that we are in a technology-driven era, and NASENI plays a critical role in the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to elevate Nigeria in science and technology on the global stage.
“I believe we have what it takes as a country, not just in material resources but, more importantly, in human resources. We have smart, young men and women in this country who can drive technological advancement. Thank you for your efforts,” he said.
Earlier, Mr. Halilu, detailed the various innovations, interventions, and partnerships that the agency has undertaken in recent months to advance technology transfer and align NASENI’s mandate with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Your Excellency, under your guidance and President Tinubu’s leadership, we have embarked on a transformative journey characterized by a push towards technological independence and industrial growth. Thanks to your continuous support and that of your team, we have made significant strides in achieving these goals,” Halilu remarked.
