Galaxy Backbone, in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), has hosted a high-level workshop with 12 key government agencies to mark a significant milestone in Nigeria’s digital transformation. This initiative aims to streamline Government-to-Citizen (G2C) interactions through the launch of the Government Service Portal (GSP). This is a unified digital platform designed to enhance access to public services.

The Government Service Portal will provide citizens with seamless, secure access to critical services like NIN Registration, Immigration Services, healthcare, and more. This significantly reduces the need for in-person visits to government offices.
Galaxy Backbone’s Role in Nigeria’s E-Government Drive
As Nigeria’s leading public sector digital services provider, Galaxy Backbone has played a pivotal role in the design and deployment of the GSP, focusing on improving user experience, accessibility, and cybersecurity. Partnering with KOICA, Galaxy Backbone ensures that the portal leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver efficient, transparent, and user-friendly public services.
KOICA’s involvement underscores the agency’s commitment to Nigeria’s e-government strategy. The agency provided technical expertise, capacity-building support, and funding.
Key Features of the Government Service Portal:
- Accelerating Digital Transformation: The GSP supports Nigeria’s digitization of public services, ensuring citizens across the country can access essential services, regardless of their location.
- Enhancing Government-Citizen Engagement: The platform reduces the need for face-to-face interactions, offering real-time tracking of services, fostering transparency, and building trust in public institutions.
- Security and Accessibility: Designed with robust cybersecurity measures, the GSP protects citizens’ data. It is mobile-friendly and accessible in multiple languages, catering to Nigeria’s diverse population.
- KOICA’s Strategic Role: KOICA’s expertise in e-governance has ensured that the GSP aligns with international best practices, drawing from similar successful global projects.
Engagement Workshop with 12 Pilot Agencies
The workshop brought together senior officials from 12 pilot agencies. They include NIMC, NCC, NAFDAC, FRSC, and more. The event familiarised these agencies with the GSP’s features and integration process, setting the stage for a smooth launch.
Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, Managing Director/CEO of Galaxy Backbone, emphasised the transformative potential of the initiative. He said “the Government Service Portal is a testament to Nigeria’s commitment to digitalisation. We are proud to lead this effort alongside KOICA to improve governance and service delivery.”
KOICA’s Country Director, Mr. Sunjil Son, echoed similar sentiment. He expressed the agency’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s digital economy. “This platform will reshape how citizens interact with their government, driving sustainable development through technology and innovation,” said Son.
Looking Ahead
The successful engagement with the pilot agencies paves the way for the GSP’s broader rollout across all government ministries and departments. This will help establish a robust backbone for Nigeria’s e-government strategy. The platform promises to reduce delays, improve transparency, and empower citizens with better access to government services.
