CyberAgric, a state-of-the-art mobile application powered by artificial intelligence (AI), is designed to assist Nigerian farmers, particularly those engaged in cash crop cultivation like cassava and maize.
One of its pioneering features is early disease detection, capable of spotting diseases such as cassava brown streak disease (CBSD) in cassava leaves within a fortnight of infection.
The two major cassava diseases common to cassava crops in Nigeria are cassava mosaic disease (CMD) and notably CMSD. By launching CyberAgric, Flexify Solutions aims to combat this menace, potentially sparing millions of farmers from its impact.
CyberAgric addresses significant economic losses due to CBSD
CBSD is a significant viral threat to cassava crops, causing devastating yield losses of up to 100% and jeopardizing food security across Africa, including Nigeria. It destroys the edible roots even when the rest of the plant looks healthy. The economic losses due to CBSD could be much higher considering that the disease affects all the plant parts (leaves stems, and roots).
Through the use of smartphone cameras, farmers can snap pictures of their crops and promptly receive analysis and recommendations, empowering them to safeguard their crops and optimize yields.
Additionally, CyberAgric operates seamlessly offline, ensuring accessibility for farmers in remote regions with limited internet connectivity.
