Abuh expressed gratitude to the Plateau State Government, particularly Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, for supporting the initiative. Since launching the initiative in November, EduManager Solutions has worked closely with the Ministry of Education and the Plateau State ICT Development Agency to ensure the smooth implementation of the program. The company’s education management software is currently being deployed across schools in 12 states including Lagos, Kaduna, and Oyo. This marks a major milestone in digital transformation within the education sector.
Building Sustainable ICT Partnerships
EduManager Solutions is not only deploying ICT solutions but is also committed to continuous engagement with educational stakeholders. The company collaborates with education management offices, principals, data officers, and teachers to ensure proper training and adaptation of the new technology.
“Our goal is not just to implement ICT solutions and leave. We are committed to re-engagement and continuous partnership to ensure that technology is accepted and effectively utilized in schools,” Abuh emphasized.
The Plateau State government has also recognized Abuh’s contributions to educational technology. He was recently honored by the National Association of Plateau State Students with the title of Educational Technology Ambassador.
Challenges and the Path Forward
Despite the progress, the initiative has faced challenges, particularly resistance from some schools concerned about government oversight and potential taxation. Some schools have provided inaccurate data, which has slowed the process. However, Abuh assured that these issues are being addressed through ongoing education and engagement.
“The biggest challenge in any ICT implementation is change management. Some schools fear that the government wants to use this system for taxation, but our goal is to provide accurate data for better educational planning and intervention,” he explained.
EduManager Solutions is also advocating for private schools to be included in the digital transition, ensuring that all students, regardless of their school type, benefit from government interventions.
Beyond Plateau State: Expanding ICT Adoption Nationwide
The company’s ambitions extend beyond Plateau State. Abuh revealed that discussions are underway with Bauchi State for a similar ICT deployment. This expansion aligns with EduManager Solutions’ vision of supporting education technology initiatives across Nigeria, regardless of political or regional affiliations.
We are business professionals working to support governments that are intentional about growth in education through ICT, Our focus is not on popularity, but on the impact we can create in education management.”
Why Schools must embrace education technology for digital transformation
Abuh urged schools yet to adopt education technology to embrace the digital transformation, emphasizing that ICT integration is not just a financial investment but a cost-effective solution that enhances administration, result management, and overall school efficiency.
“We understand the economic challenges schools face, but ICT is designed to cut costs and improve efficiency. Schools should see this as an opportunity to improve service delivery rather than an expense,” he advised.
EduManager Solutions remains committed to ensuring that ICT becomes an integral part of education management in Nigeria, bridging the gap between technology and effective learning. With continuous support from stakeholders and the government, the future of digital education in Plateau State and beyond looks promising.
