Can you share details about the partnership with BlockFuse Labs?
Our 2025 goal is to drive collaboration and ecosystem growth by strengthening partnerships among tech hubs. Instead of outsourcing solutions, we leverage local expertise to build a thriving tech community.
Our partnership with BlockFuse Labs began in their early days in Jos, Nigeria. While they focus on Web3 development, CoreStream specializes in Web2 solutions. Rather than creating training programs from scratch, they partnered with us to seamlessly transition developers from Web2 to Web3, ensuring a steady talent pipeline.
Beyond training, this partnership fosters innovation. CoreStream’s business, government, and enterprise solutions are now being explored for Web3 integration, leveraging blockchain technology to enhance security, scalability, and data privacy, especially in healthcare and enterprise software.
Are there financial or business model implications for this partnership?
This partnership is not just transactional, it’s a strategic collaboration. Our business model operates on a mutual growth framework, where we help each other scale.
For example, CoreStream has developed a healthcare automation system that requires advanced data privacy measures. Since blockchain is the perfect solution, BlockFuse Labs will handle this transition. Likewise, when they need software implementation, CoreStream steps in. This cross-collaboration strengthens both companies and the broader tech ecosystem.
How does CoreStream plan to measure the success of this partnership?
We use a robust Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework to assess all partnerships and projects. Our track record includes a partnership with the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to evaluate startups in North Central Nigeria, as well as collaborations with the Plateau State Government for sector-specific tech initiatives.
For our partnership with BlockFuse Labs, success metrics include:
- The number of Web2 developers successfully transitioned to Web3
- The impact of collaborative projects
- The growth of the local tech ecosystem
This data-driven approach allows us to refine our strategies and maximize benefits.
Do you foresee any challenges with this partnership?
Challenges are inevitable, but at CoreStream, we mitigate risks through clear communication and well-defined agreements before entering partnerships. We emphasize dispute resolution over litigation, fostering a collaborative rather than competitive approach.
One common challenge in the Nigerian tech industry is that companies often view each other as competitors rather than potential collaborators. However, at CoreStream, we believe in open collaboration, which is why we have multiple partnerships beyond BlockFuse Labs. In fact, we are currently in discussions with several other organizations for upcoming collaborations.
Are there plans to expand the partnership beyond Plateau State?
Absolutely. CoreStream is actively engaging with organizations across Nigeria and internationally.
- We are developing an anti-corruption mobile app in partnership with an NGO, set to launch on April 17th. The project is 70% complete and will be deployed nationwide.
- We have participated in open calls for partnerships with Indian and South African tech companies, successfully securing one of these international opportunities.
- In Q1 of this year alone, we have delivered four applications, with three more set for completion by the end of the month. This demonstrates our capacity to scale and collaborate on larger projects beyond our immediate environment.
Final Thoughts: Building a Thriving Tech Ecosystem
At CoreStream, we are committed to:
- Fostering innovation through strategic partnerships
- Developing talent to strengthen the tech workforce
- Driving digital transformation across industries
Our collaboration with BlockFuse Labs reflects our vision of a robust tech ecosystem where companies support each other’s growth. By leveraging each other’s strengths, we can accelerate the transition from Web2 to Web3, enhance software development, and drive technological progress in Nigeria and beyond.
