The Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) is gearing up to launch a nationwide initiative aimed at bridging the digital divide. Set to begin in January 2025, the programme will empower Nigerian youth with new skills and job opportunities. Targeting thousands of young Nigerians. the initiative is rolling out in phases across DBI’s campuses in Abuja, Kano, Lagos, Asaba, Enugu, and Yola.

“A new chapter opens for us building significantly on collaborations and partnerships, said Daser David, Chief Executive Officer of DBI.
“Our commitment goes beyond education. We aim to build a digitally inclusive society. Recent evaluations of our Enugu and Yola campuses underscore our dedication to regional development and readiness to deliver transformative educational programs in collaboration with our partners.”
Established by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), DBI is renowned for its world-class training in ICT. It’s course menu includes cybersecurity, and digital entrepreneurship among others. With strategic expansions and partnerships, the institute is poised to significantly enhance its educational offerings to meet global standards.
Key Components of the Initiative
- Infrastructure Development: Completion of state-of-the-art facilities across all campuses to meet international standards for digital education.
- Curriculum Innovation: Introduction of over 400 cutting-edge courses in ICT, cybersecurity, digital entrepreneurship, and more.
- Faculty Recruitment: Hiring highly skilled educators and administrative personnel to ensure superior training delivery.
- Youth Empowerment: Equipping young Nigerians with essential digital skills to create sustainable job opportunities in the growing digital economy.
Regional Impact and Opportunities
Under DBI’s new leadership, a comprehensive assessment in November confirmed the Enugu campus as ready to become a regional hub. The campus is set to launch innovative programs designed to provide thousands of youth with industry-relevant skills. Modelled to be a skill building and job placement point, Enugu will strengthen the region’s socio-economic development.
David emphasised, “The best investment we can make is in our youth. Through these initiatives, we aim to foster innovation, close the digital gap, and prepare Nigerian youth for the demands of a global economy.”
