There are many positive things I remember about him, which, when recounted makes sense that God rules in the affairs of men. We got to know each other in 2021, when he was already theĀ  Director General of the Plateau State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA).

Before that formal meeting, stories of his feat have long gone ahead of him; so that, when it was time; I only confirmed it was him I have heard about.

PICTDA under David Daser, for those who know became one of the hottest agencies that got the energy and potentials of the Plateau youth utilised for good.

Some months to the expiry date of Governor Simon Bako Lalong’s government, his second tenure was renewed. This was based on his achievements at putting the agency to become one to be beaten in Nigeria.

He resigned before the 2023 general elections. Others would have sulked.Ā  However, he studiously buried himself in other assignments being a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

If you know him very well, Oluwadaser was as usual, joyful; something was in the offing particularly as a professional colleague, Dr Bosun Tijani soon became Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.

The above is not suggestive, rather, being the computer expert and software engineer that he has become and is daily sought after, he is able to hold up to his credentials anywhere, any day.

His path appears to have been paved for the right steps. When he left PICTDA, he was appointed a member of the NDP Act General Implementation Directive (GAID) Drafting Committee by the National Commissioner of the Nigerian Data Protection Commission, Dr. Vincent Olatunji.

That has resulted in his being appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as President/Chief Executive Officer, Digital Bridge Institute.

Before he became the Minister, Dr Bosun Tijani was busy running ccHub in Lagos, Mr David Daser was running NHUB in Jos. As professionals, they were not lost; they were a part of a global conversation on technology adoption in Africa.

His contributions to the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) are numerous and so nuanced. They remain a trademark of his talents that are capable of driving the digital economy, to a level Nigeria can compete with others.

His expertise, which many are aware runs through a gamut of numerous domains in tech, are not but limited to software development, digital transformation and data analytics.

NHub provided a safe environment for younger generations’ in this field ‘to develop their skills

Talking about these, Daser has been involved in transforming millions of youth to become experts with digital skills. The same set of young men and women, and even more have been unleashed into the Nigerian economy.

The testimony of his inventive brilliance has been deployed in Plateau youth. The ‘Code Plateau’, which he initiated has become a flagship. It has created jobs for the youth; who now have credible means of livelihoods.

An ideal candidate got appointed; Oluwadaser’s experience in the tech industry buoyed by his commitment and hard work towards driving innovation and growth in the industry; whose boundaries and impact are daily felt.

Has anyone thought of how his idea, ‘NHub’ in just a matter of time became the melting point for ICT experts, and rightly has been said, it ‘provided a safe environment for younger generations’ in this field ‘to develop their skills’.

Without doubt, and as many know, ‘these, among many other innovations’, David Daser has brought into the industry, ‘have helped taken’ young people ‘off the streets, thereby reducing social vices’ in the society.

The appointment has been widely acknowledged. His worth has spread far and near; what more could the President want in his appointee than one who knows his onions and is ever result-oriented?
