David Daser’s journey exemplifies rising from local impact to national influence, writes Munatare Munashak.

A Tech Visionary in Jos

Fresh out of the University of Jos, Daser established the N-Hub, a tech innovation center. He then went on to revolutionize the Plateau Information Communication Development Agency (PITCDA) under Governor Simon Bako Lalong.  Daser’s leadership secured national and international ICT awards for Governor Lalong, earning him the nickname “The Digital Governor” and his team,Special Assistants to the Governor on ICT trolled as (DATA BOYS) or the “Lalong Boys” – a testament to their loyalty and effectiveness.

Transforming a Tarnished Image:

Daser and his team transformed the once-maligned “SAs on ICT” into a force for innovation in governance. They launched “Code Plateau,” an initiative that empowered many, including this writer (a fellow of Code Plateau 1.0). This program fostered digital skills, paving the way for countless opportunities, even shaping my path to becoming an emerging Artificial Intelligence Master.

A Plateau Loss, a National Gain

Since Daser’s departure from PICTDA with the change in administration, the agency’s luster has faded, and Code Plateau has unfortunately ceased to exist. This serves as a reminder for Plateau State to value its talented individuals and not succumb to “political witchcraft.”

David’s National Ambitions

Daser has embarked on a national mission, and I firmly believe that within three years, he will significantly elevate Nigeria’s tech ecosystem, placing it on par with Silicon Valley.

From Data Boys to Big Data Boys

Once dubbed the “DG of the Data Boys,” Daser will now lead a team with even greater ambitions – the “Big Data Boys.”  Currently, he holds the prestigious position of President/CEO of the Digital Bridge Institute ( DG,DBI).

Turning Opposition into Opportunity

Those who once belittled him (“trolled”) unknowingly on Mark Zuckerberg’s  blue app, propelled him towards his greatness..

Let them continue their negativity while Daser continues to soar high in his service to the Nation, his empowerment like always will reach everyone  eventually when it comes to digital skills training and re-training for employability.

We on the Plateau want to say a big thank you to the foresight of ” Jagaban” for appointing a technocrat in a vital position, even as we pray for more befitting appointments to the state.

Loyalty is a virtue and hard work gets rewarded at the end of the day. After all, the one who laughs last, laughs best.
