Just two weeks after his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Daser David, the new President and Chief Executive Officer of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), officially resumed office on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Institute’s headquarters in Abuja.

Mr. David, whose appointment was announced on August 20, was warmly welcomed by the top management staff of the Institute, according to a statement by Akin Ogunlade, Head of the Public Affairs Unit at DBI.

David is a seasoned expert in digital technology. He previously served as the pioneer Director General of the Plateau State Information Communication Technology Development Agency (PICTDA).

During his tenure, he developed digital systems to enhance governance in Plateau State and increase efficiency in the civil service. Under his leadership, the state launched the Silicon Plateau Project and its flagship programs, including Code Plateau, which fostered a community of soft skills experts. He also initiated the Qua’an Pan Innovation Hub, the first fully funded hub by a local government in Nigeria.

Founder of first innovation hub in northern Nigeria

David, a Biochemistry graduate from the University of Jos, is also a software engineer. He is the founder of Nhub, the first innovation hub in northern Nigeria. Nhub serves as both a technology solutions company and a skill acquisition hub, helping thousands of young people venture into tech entrepreneurship. His experience extends to consulting for the Nigeria Police and the Nigeria Air Force, as well as various other public and private sector entities.

Additionally, David was a member of the Presidential Advisory Council on Technology & Creativity, chaired by former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo. The council was established to address technology and creativity challenges in Nigeria and played a significant role in advancing the nation’s entertainment and technology ecosystems.

Upon resuming his new role, David was joined by DBI’s top management and general staff, who accompanied him on a tour of the Institute’s facilities.
