The first edition of ‘Made in Nigeria Series’ has successfully hosted businesses and entrepreneurs from across the country – all provided a virtual window to promote their made in Nigeria goods and services.
An e-market, the series is a special intervention and empowerment scheme promoted by Bloomyo Enterprises, in association with “some group of Africans, who live, believe, love, work and do business in Africa,” said Project Manager Oghale Adewumi Okri John, who also doubled as the prime mover of the initiative.
“The series is designed to inspire more job creators, promote made in Nigeria, Africa brands, products and services, and help entrepreneurs launch into the new economy. The aim is to foster an online, culture to help create more visibility and sales so as to increase revenues for these businesses,” added John.
The first ‘LIVE e-Market’ tagged ‘Made in Nigeria Festival 2020 (MINF 2020 e-Market)’ was declared open by Mrs. Olga Hart Egbunike, a serial entrepreneur.
Egbunike remarked that “online is now the new economy, and any business of worth must be visible online.”
She added: “The wealthiest men and women in this generation, like Amazon, Facebook and even our own Linda Ikeji, do not own mega factories or gigantic structures.”
The maiden MINF 2020 e-Market held via Zoom and was re-streamed on Instagram and also hosted on Youtube. “While links were shared on other social media handles,” said John.
The mother of the event, Her Excellency Abioudu Hauwa Yuguda, in her welcome address, said that, “the Made in Nigeria Festival 2020 is 60-80% Made in Nigeria and 40-20% Made outside Nigeria platform. Each e-Market Day is opened to 100 registered and accredited vendors, hosted live on zoom and streamed or link shared on other social media handles. There is free access for visitors and shoppers.”
According to John, the e-Market is designed to offer thousands of visitors and shopper’s great opportunity to buy quality products at best price, from people they can see and products they can verify LIVE during and after the event.
“The e-Market offers online and offline participation, collaboration, marketing opportunities and after event online visibility, downloads for repeat sales to the featured vendors,” he added.
The MINF 2020 e-Market also featured entrepreneurs of note as speakers. They include CEO of Kangen Water Machine, Lagos, Mrs. Mercy Ezenwa; CEO, KnowHow Media International, Mr. Olusegun Oruame; and CEO SwitchPath Consulting; Mr. Emeka Nobis.
