The Association of Telecommunications Companies of Nigeria (ATCON) has expressed its confidence in the dynamic leadership of Daser David, the newly appointed President of the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI), citing his impressive track record in Nigeria’s telecom and ICT sectors.

In a letter signed by ATCON President, Tony Emoekpere, the association pledged its continued support for DBI under David’s leadership.

“ATCON, as one of the leading stakeholders in the industry, is pleased to be associated with you. We are certain that your dynamic leadership will positively impact the Digital Bridge Institute,” the statement said.

David was appointed by President Bola Tinubu to head DBI, a telecom training institute established by the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) in 2004. DBI is tasked with advancing Nigeria’s digital capacity and infrastructure development.

Collaboration to advance Nigeria’s digital innovation

ATCON was established in 1993 as a non-profit and non-political umbrella organisation for Nigeria’s telecommunications companies. It has played a pivotal role in driving development in Nigeria’s telecom industry over the past three decades. The association boasts of over 250 corporate members. ATCON expresses eagerness to work with David to continue fostering advancements in Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and technological innovation.

Akin Ogunlade, Head of the Public Affairs Unit at DBI, noted that ATCON attributed David’s appointment to his reputation as a seasoned technocrat. As a and professional, Daser has a proven history of excellent performance in his previous roles.

Emoekpere further emphasised ATCON’s readiness to collaborate closely with David to ensure that DBI plays a key role in Nigeria’s digital future. It said this would be strategic to reinforcing the nation’s standing in the global ICT space.
