“Amazon is the top world online store, records millions of visits from all over the world, and offers unmatched access to customers including buyers and sellers globally. It is bringing that strength to bear on the local scene allowing millions of Nigerians to offer their unique products online to customers outside our shores,” said an insider.
Amazon’s Nigerian presence is part of its expansion into new markets in Africa, Europe (Belgium) and Latin America (Chile, Columbia). It is opening shop too in South Africa to underscore its plans to leverage opportunities in two of Africa’s biggest economies.
