Chanzo Capital , in collaboration with Startup Bootcamp Africa, MEST Africa, ANTLER, iHub, and GrowthAfrica, has announced the selection of 10 startups and 10 scaleups from across Africa. Those selected to pitch at the 11th Angel Fair Africa are from Tanzania, Kenya, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and Mozambique. The event will take place on November 7-8, 2024, at the Two Rivers International Finance and Innovation Center (TRIFIC) in Nairobi, Kenya.

The two-day event will be split into dedicated sessions. Day one is for startups seeking angel, pre-seed, and seed funding. Day two will focus on scaleups looking for Seed, Series A, and Series B investments.

The selected startups and scaleups have already completed intensive entrepreneurial programs. One group of startups graduated from the Spark Accelerator program managed by iHub, while others participated in the MEST Africa Challenge. The scaleups have completed the initial phase of the Chanzo Onespace Startup and Scaleup (COSSA) Accelerator, managed by ASSL.

TRIFIC: Home for African businesses

These programs provide first-level screening and preparation. It was followed by additional fine-tuning by the Angel Fair Africa (AFA) team, culminating in the Entrepreneurs Bootcamp from November 4-6 at Onespace in the TRIFIC building.

Brenda Mbathi, CEO of TRIFIC, expressed excitement about hosting the event.  She stated, “We are thrilled to welcome these remarkable startups and scaleups to the 11th Angel Fair Africa at TRIFIC. This is exactly what our innovation hub was designed for.” She added that TRIFIC is the perfect venue to support such a prestigious event.

Ian Kabiru, CEO of Onespace, emphasized the importance of the partnerships that made the event possible. “Our relationship with TRIFIC has allowed us to establish a home for African businesses in this special economic zone. Partnering with Chanzo Capital to create the Chanzo Onespace Startups and Scaleup (COSSA) Accelerator has laid the foundation for bringing these promising ventures to the 11th Angel Fair Africa,” he said.
