The 11th Angel Fair Africa (AFA) aka AFA@11 is returning to the Silicon Savannah of Nairobi, Kenya from 7th to 8th November 2024. AFA is Chanzo Capital’s annual event that brings together selected African entrepreneurs and curated investors to DO DEALS.

Dr. James Mworia, Group MD and CEO of Centum Investments Company, promoters of the Two Rivers International Financial and Innovation Center (TRIFIC) would keynote the event.

The 10th AFA which was held last year in Cape Town, South Africa has resulted in three deals so far. Mansa Inc, Rivia and Bosso who were part of the AFA@10 cohort have since raised their angel and pre-seed rounds with announcements at https://www.africa.com/former-treepz-cmo-launches-rivia-an-asset-light-healthcare-chain-in-ghana/, https://www.itedgenews.africa/rivia-acquires-ghanaian-saas-company-waffle-to-expand-digital-healthcare-network/ and https://disruptafrica.com/2024/05/31/zambian-construction-e-commerce-startup-bosso-raises-400k-pre-seed-funding/. A-Trader who was also part of the cohort and went ahead to win the AfricArena competition the following week at https://thebftonline.com/2023/12/18/afa10-cohort-founder-wins-at-africarena/.

In 2016, when AFA@4 was hosted for the first time in Nairobi, Kenya, the late Dr. Chris Kirubi, then Director of Centum was the keynote. The event spotlighted, Daniel Yu of Wasoko, Sam Wanjohi of Popote Pay, Ken Griffith of Ajua, Trevor Kimenye of Ongair, Caitlin Dolkart of Flare, Rita Kimani of FarmDrive, Waweru Kuria of Inuka Pap, etc who raised money and have gone on to build amazing tech ventures majority of which are still in existence.

The timing is perfect for having AFA@11 in Nairobi this year, building on the momentum created by Ambassador Meg Whitman’s and President William Ruto’s US-Kenya Silicon Savannah roadshow in Silicon Valley last September 2023, the Kauffman Fellows Africa VC Summit that happened in Kenya.

Culminated by President Ruto’s US state visit in May 2024. Kenya is the commercial hub of East and Central Africa, and these recent events highlight the strong partnership between Kenya and the USA, with demonstrable interest shown by investors in Kenya’s Silicon Savannah.
